     Amber has been a part of our family since July 2003. She was purchased from a home breeder of AKC registered, purebred Labrador Retrievers in upstate New York. Originally we bought her as just a companion dog for both ourselves and our German Shepard, Hunter, however her personality and physical traits persuaded us to want to breed her. We chose her from her litter of ten due to her unique facial coloring (her  pigment is rose rather than black) and her charismatic personality. From the start we knew she was an outstanding dog. She has always been very active and a very loving family pet. When she had recently turned one year old Amber discovered our backyard pool. Since then it is hard to keep her away! By far her absolute favorite thing to do is swim! Amber is also a very social dog. Not only does she get along great with our current pets, but friends bring their dogs over too and Amber couldn't be happier to have more friends to play with! She is a very friendly, non-aggressive dog-which makes her a very good choice for a breeding dog. She is also very inquisitive and playful.

When Amber turned three we decided it was the right time to breed her. She had matured by that point from a puppy to a fun-loving adult. When we felt the time was right, and the vet gave us the go ahead, we found a standard poodle that we and Amber both liked. His name was Taj. He is a three year old, AKC registered purebred black and white, standard parti poodle that lives just a short distance from our house.

Amber's first litter of pups were born October 15th, 2006. She was in labor for 10 hours! She gave birth to ten adorable and very healthy puppies. She had three boys and seven girls in the litter which also represented each color variety of the Labrador Retriever (yellow-both light and darker, black and chocolate) as well as four with some white markings from their father (the marking varied in size and location).

Amber has been retired from our breeding program. However, we will retain her name (Amber's Nursery) in honor of her being the pioneer dog in our breeding program!
