Amber's Nursery

About Us....

 Ashley and Eileen

First I would like to thank you for taking the time to learn more about us. It is important to us to place our puppies in the best homes possible and we believe that the best owners are the most informed owners.

So, let me tell you more about us. We are a home breeder, which means we don't use kennels or keep our dogs outside in a "puppy shed." All of our dogs (and their puppies) are our pets and we treat them as such. They are kept in our home and treated as a member of our family. We are admitted dog lovers! We have had them for the majority of our lives and plan on continuing to do so. At this moment we have four dogs: Hunter, the female German Shepard (who is not a breeding dog), Amber, the Yellow Labrador Retriever (our resident Mom), Ashley, the first generation Labradoodle (Amber's daughter from a previous litter) and Madison the first generation Labradoodle (another of Amber's puppies from a previous litter). We also frequently have four-legged guests in our home, like Koda (Danielle's Labradoodle and one of Amber's pups).

While pregnant and nursing our resident mommies receive a high nutrient diet to better ensure healthy puppies. They are provided with a warm and quiet place to rest whenever they need for the entirety of their pregnancy. They all visit the veterinarian for check-ups and to make sure both the mommy and the puppies are doing well. Before the big day, we set up the whelping bed, where they mother dog will give birth to her puppies as well as feed them and care for them until they grow too big for the bed. They are then moved into a larger pen. This allows them the room they need to develop, play and exercise. Throughout this exciting time, the puppies are handled daily and, when old enough, are allowed to run around penned off, puppy-safe areas of the house. They are given plenty of toys for enrichment as well as plenty of high nutrient, fresh food. All puppies are veterinarian checked, and are given their first round of shots before they are able to leave with their new family.

Our puppies leave our care very well socialized and very healthy, which is something that we pride ourselves on. Each puppy spends time being held by us as well as time to explore and socialize outside their pen daily. This helps with enrichment as well as development. We treat each puppy as our own pet, no one is given more attention than the others. We do give each puppy a temporary name, while they are in our care, to allow us to better tell them apart, as well as to get to know their individual personalities (which is the best part!). This allows us to better determine which puppy would make the right pet for you and your family. In addition to having the puppies vet checked. They are also checked by us frequently throughout the day. Between myself, Eileen; my husband, Ron; and our assistant breeder and friend, Danielle, the puppies are rarely unsupervised when they are awake. They are also cleaned up  after meticulously when needed (which is generally ALWAYS). By the time the puppies leave the whelping bed, they are paper trained. This allows us to keep their space cleaner-which is very important to us since it is much healthier for them to be in a clean environment.

We are dedicated to finding the right homes for our puppies since they are a very important part of our family both while they are here and after they go to their new home. We love to hear updates about our puppies and how they are doing in their new homes! We hope this page gives you more insight into how we do things and who we are. If you have any further questions, please feel free to e-mail us or give us a call! We would love to hear from you!
